Tony Hutchenson Obituary

Life Reflections:

We gather today to honor and celebrate the life of Tony Hutchenson, affectionately known to many as T-Hut, a man whose laughter and spirit were as generous as the good Lord's grace. Born on the 15th of June, 1956, in the heart of Knoxville, Tennessee, Tony was a beacon of light in the community he loved and never left. On the 7th of April, 2024, in the same beloved city, Tony was called home after a courageous battle with lung cancer.

Born to the late Mattie Lou Hutchenson and Elijah Newton, Tony was a beacon of joy in his family. He was welcomed into heaven by his late wife, Joyce Hutchinson, and greeted by the loving arms of his parents, his sisters Mattie Davis and Ann Jackson, his brother Robert Jackson Sr, and his cherished great nephews, Jerome "Jroc" Locke and Howard Mitchell. Tony's life was a testament to love and family, a tapestry woven with the golden threads of kinship and laughter.

Loving brother to sisters, Gloria Jean Moulden, Glenda Moore, brothers, Bobby Hutchenson, James Earl Hutchenson

A proud father, Tony's heart swelled with love for his children: Antonio (Ayrrianna) Hutchinson, Torrey Simpson, Charlene (Kory) Thomas, and Lanise Parker. His grandchildren, Kyniya, Antonio Jr., Ayrhija, Adiaree, Santonio, Aria, Torrey Jr., and Tyliah, Great Great Grandchildren Aliyah Jones, Kali Hayes, and Kurrency Hayes, were the apples of his eye, each one a testament to his boundless love and joy.

Tony's life was rich with kinship, as he was a cherished uncle and great-uncle to many, including (late) Johnny Bradley, Robert Jackson Jr., Matthew Moore, Robert (Julie) Locke, MaryAnn Bell, and his devoted great-nieces and nephews, Corey (Anitra) Jackson, Malcom Jackson, Darius Jackson, Michal Jackson, Phillip Locke Sr., Phillip Locke, Quonna Locke, Shay Locke, Kowalsky Mattress, Karen Armstrong, Shameka Armstrong, Jasmine Armstrong, Samantha Moore, Mortisha Moore, Orlando Glass, Sam Moore, Tonia (Michael) Mostella, Johnetta Moulden, John Moulden Jr., Melissa Ontiveros, Takeita Locke, Charles Thomas, Brittany Bell, Vanessa Bell, April (Johnathan) Bradley His family extended beyond blood to include his best friend, Sam Bell and a host of additional nieces, nephews, and cousins who will forever hold him dear in their hearts.

A graduate of Austin High School, Tony channeled his passion for food and fellowship into a fulfilling career as a chef at Club Leconte, where his culinary creations delighted many. His work was not just a job but a canvas for his artistry and a way to bring people together, he also attended Crossroads Christian Church where he found Christ.

Tony's zest for life was evident in his love for sports and wrestling. His laughter was infectious, his personality outgoing, and his humor a source of constant joy. He loved to eat, and his adventurous spirit was matched only by his warmth and friendliness. These qualities made him a beloved figure, and his absence will leave an irreplaceable void in the community.

In his life, Tony embodied the words of the Apostle Paul, "Rejoice in hope, be patient in tribulation, be constant in prayer" (Romans 12:12). His resilience in the face of adversity and his unwavering faith were an inspiration to all who knew him.

Today, as we bid farewell to Tony, we take solace in knowing that he has found peace in the arms of our Heavenly Father. His laughter, love, and legacy will continue to resonate within our hearts and the halls of Knoxville, just as the echo of a cherished hymn lingers long after the last note has been sung.

Let us remember Tony Hutchenson not with sorrow, but with the joy he would want us to feel. For in the words of the great Reverend Billy Graham, "My home is in Heaven. I'm just traveling through this world." Tony has completed his journey here on earth and now rests high on that heavenly hill, watching over us with the same love and kindness he shared each day of his earthly walk.

We are blessed to have known T-Hut, a man of faith, family, and friendship. His story is one of love, laughter, and the unwavering spirit of a life well-lived. May his memory be eternal, and may we carry forward the lessons of compassion and camaraderie he exemplified throughout his remarkable life.

Rest in heavenly peace, Tony Hutchenson. Your spirit lives on in the hearts of those you've touched, and your legacy will continue to inspire us all. Amen
